More Framed Paintings

Monday, June 13th, 2011

Hi there,

I remembered I have a few more paintings framed. These are the ones I usually take with me to display.

The Anemone is 12 x 18 inches framed, is after one from the Bourdichon Hours. It is watercolor and gouache on watercolor paper.

The Butterfly is 11 x 13 inches framed, is one I painted in a class given by Jennifer Richardson on how to paint butterflies. It was drawn from the actual pinned butterfly, and is gouache on typing paper. Since it is on typing paper, it will be staying with me permanently as it will erode quickly.

The Tiny Butterfly is 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches, and is after one from the Bourdichon Hours. It is animal skin vellum, gesso, 23.5 kt Gold Leaf, and loose pigments bound with egg yolk (hand mixed tempera paint). These are the more authentic materials for illuminated manuscripts, rather than modern paints and papers.
